I have the same issue in my 2006 envoy xl. The only issue I have is the middle actuator seams to not have a white gear in it when I pull it off. If I pull the white gear off the actuator it fits perfectly on the metal post. I then recalibrate it and the air blows out the defrost as it always did and moves to the floor for a couple seconds.

There is a factory bulletin that has been issued by GM on the concern with the blower motor not shutting off that requires replacement of the blower motor control module.
