E11/11S Lightning Burnt Strike. You can gap close right after you hear the explosion sound from the line aoe. Someone suggested a while back to use Razer Surround. FFXIV will use that as a (virtual) sound device, and it can dynamically route the audio. I have looked for this and it appears that FFXIV just uses the Windows default at the time of launch. I don't believe this changes or even updates if the default changes (but I'd have to verify).

FF14 no sound effects refers to the game's lack of sound effects in certain areas. This issue was first discovered in patch 4.0 and has been present in subsequent patches.
