The hinges are its weakest point - and they are extremely weak. I had the same issue: open/close/flip with normal force for ca. 2 years, and eventually the hinge will break. The metal hinge extends only 1cm into the monitor and it's held in place by 2 short screws. The plastic cover of the hinge will be the first to go.The problem with the 7i hinges is that they GLUED them in place and the glue joint breaks under the stress of opening and closing the lid. They repair it by gluing it in again and so the problem isn't really fixed properly and the breakage can occur again. This was my first Lenovo purchase and I spent close to $2K on the laptop.
