I have a Storm Lake drop in 9mm barrel for my xdm 40 4.5". Just remember, the stock spring is an 18lb made for .40 ammo. You can shoot the basic 115 grain for 9mm but be prepared for it to jam every so often. I use 124 grain minimum to stay away from jamming. I would suggest buying a 14lb spring to shoot 115 grain.

This what I used on my first XDm 5.25 front sight. I also made a fat shim of Trex decking to keep the slide from rotating in the pusher frame, and I put brass shim stock between the pusher and the frame to take up the heinous amount of slop. I did remove the coating on the flat sides of my xdm to give it the brush steel look. It has not shown any signs of rust yet, and its been at least 3 weeks.The XDM slide is too narrow to low mount the RMR with the mounting lugs. The RMR can handle the cycling of the slide, and even if you mount it on the slide, it takes some practice to find the dot.
