I like the non rolling bond ladder so that IF I want to spend or rebalance the maturing bond I can do so. buying individual bonds in a ladder helps me mentally ignore the bond’s value fluctuating due to interest rates changing. It hurts my psych to see the NAV of the bond fund go down but not so much an individual bond.
