RRRAAAYYY2. 26611 posts · Joined 2005. #10 · May 5, 2012. If it is a true propane engine it will have a really high compression ratio. Propane could handle like 12 to 1, and needed it because it produces less power than gas. If it was an 8 to 1 or 9 to 1 engine, it would have been a dog on propane.
