I ended up purchasing a Tikka t3x superlite, decking it out with mountain tactical goods, cerekote and mesa precision stock. Its a hell of a shooter I couldn't be happier. My Tikka shoots .5moa all day with 147eld-m. For some reason it doesn't like anything lighter than 140 though. I love the rifle but hate the mags. The sporter style stock is comfortable and lightweight, although I would like to see more stiffness in the forend. Weighing in at 7.45 lbs on my scale, the Mesa weighs a little more than the advertised 7.3 lbs. I would have liked to see it in the 6 to 6.5 lb range. The other negative, in my opinion, is the radial muzzle brake.And you'd be right. Both rifles come in .308, both have laminated stocks, iron sights and a pic rail, the Ruger's rail in front of the receiver, Scout style, and the Tikka's on top of the receiver. Big difference is that $900. price premium for the T3X Arctic! Thank you very nice but I'll take the Ruger in stainless W/laminated stock.
