What the lockout switch is supposed to do is to sense the generator frequency as slightly inaccurate and shed the load.There aren't any control wires to the SMM, only the AC line, so frequency and voltage are all it can measure. Hmmm, the only time iv seen the load shed module fry like that were the original versions that didnt have the standoffs on the back. I see yours had the standoffs. Does your switch have the stick on plastic insulator pad behind the load shed module. Its attached to the switch box itself. A kind of insulator. The coils can fry under 2 conditions.Bypass it for good and add a soft start on your AC unit. The SMM from generac are good for nothing but burning up. The SMM interrupts the 24 volt to the compressor contactor coil. Bypass the SMM and get your AC back up online.
