A engineer just happen to be there (for another vehicle at the shop) when I pulled the pan off.mike diesel. Once you remove that hub then you can see the cam gear and pin. It might be fine, and your issue is just the hub in front of it. You should be able to pull that off with a puller. Pour the CLR into the bucket and add the steel lines. let them sit like 30 to 45 minutes. The rust is gone and lines look new. Take a dremel with a small cup wire brush and clean the flares and inside the nuts (Threads) with it, swish around in the CLR again and then wash them good with Water.

Continuing to drive the truck wil allow the balancer to slip on the crank and it can play hell on the nose of the crank and the inside of the balancer. Theres HUNDREDS of broken DURAMAX cranks from guys running aftermarket balancers on engine with cirtually no run time. LML's seem to pop around the 150-200K mile mark, others are a gamble. As to harmonics, these same harmonics are present in engines running ATI balancers, it's just a natural harmonic in the engine.
