Ofc there are ways to speed it up, like Agricraft sprinklers (they stack the effect), or growth accelerators (also stack) and watering cans. Depending on what mods available, there are even tick accelerators that can make the growth instant.
Not using growth accelerators but these seeds were growing fine and producing decently and then suddenly stopped. i left the game running over night, and over a good 12hr stretch or so i saw no growth change on any of the seeds, all were at 0%. i tried replanting, different farmland types, no change.

That keeps the numbers low enough to do in your head and it's a lot easier to count 16 full stacks than it is to count that you have 1024 inferium.
From my experience, farmland in botany pots is the best way to produce inferium at start. Then the real thing with accelerators will be far way better. (With one 9x9 it produces 200k inferium / 12h) Moreover, all tier 5-6 seeds can't be used in botany pots. (I use ATM8)
