VERY intermittent problem continues for over a year, can't seem to identify the problem. The engine is a 2017 Mercury 150 4-stroke mounted on a Tracker boat. The engine has 240 hours on it and the problem started occurring at about 170 hours. Motor runs great most of the times, however it intermittently begins to miss and sputter.Turn off the main electrical cutoff switch. Remove the snaps on the outboard motor upper case and take off the cowl cover. Take the spark plug wire boot off the plug tip. Move this wire around from the opening by taping it to another part or wedging it between components. With your socket wrench, remove the plug.Intermittent for months and months. The 4 strokes are also having a lot of problems with the float in the fuel supply module. Some it is necessary to replace the complete fuel module.
