A Model 10-7 can't have a serial number of C359288 (the B97447 is not a serial) because that C series number is from around 1956 which is before S&W model marked their guns. Check it again to make sure you have the numbers correct or that you have a model marked gun.Also, frames shared serial number blocks among models. In other words there would have been K22's, K32's and K38's all sharing the same serial number range. AS far as I know the only true place S&W put the serial number is on the bottom of the grip frame. On some models they would also put the serial number on the frame, cylinder, and sometimes on the grips, but varied by model. Sometimes there was really no rhyme nor reason to what S&W did/does.
