He was working as a mover …The original, pre-upgrade Highway One Model had an acrylic lacquer finish. When Fender introduced the upgrade model in 2005, they changed to nitrocellulose lacquer. As a side note, I owned both a 2005 pre-upgrade bass (sold for financial reasons) and currently own a 2006 post-upgrade bass.This is not that bass. As someone said in another thread, this bass has a "Quality" feel to it. The neck is straight, the ebonol fretboard feels great, and the fretwork is excellent -- no rough edges whatsoever! The weight is 9.75 lbs. and it balances very well. The neck profile is decidedly non-Fender.Average age here seems to be about 14, which is fine, but 10 threads a day asking questions covered in the FAQ gets tedious. On the one hand, I like TB because there are some working bass players on there, which is what I am. The neck is about as svelte as a baseball bat and the 100% genuine ebonized fingerboard is pitiful. The finish flakes off for no apparant reason and the end pin is so poor it feels like the thing is mounted on a swivel. I’ve been playing a Breedlove Solo Jumbo fretless exclusively for the past two years, after a heart-related issue made it impossible for me to continue to play DB any longer. I was drawn to acoustic bass guitar as it allowed for acoustic expressiveness that can’t be found with electric bass.The Benson Germanium Boost isn’t exactly the greatest boost pedal. While other brands, such as TC Electronic, MXR and Keeley, offer boosts of upwards to 30 db, the Benson boasts a modest eight db. I have my first gig tonight playing through a new combo I've picked up, the Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10t. It's 18 pounds, 175 watts into the 1x10, and 300 watts with an 8 ohm extension cab. The head itself is a cool little 2.75 pound thing that comes out of the combo by loosening two thumb screws.
