A 557 with small iron upstairs is good only for brutal low RPM torque, a 429 with a set of Thors needs a really big tach and valvesprings from he!!. I'd second the vote for the 4.300 stroker, small chamber heads, coupled with a dished piston for street compression. I'd keep the compression down in the lower to mid-10 range though.
