Dodge ram fuel fill problems.
The Ram 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that was first introduced in 1994. It is currently in its fourth generation. The Ram 1500 has a gas tank that holds 26 gallons (98 L) of fuel. The gas tank is located under the bed of the truck, and it has a vent pipe that runs from the gas tank to the tailgate.
After a gallon or so goes in the air stops rushing out of the filler tube which is what triggering the pump to shut off , due to the vapors. Yes the simple fix is adjusting the filler tube to a different angle. But I've found that by simply filing it slow for the first gallon. I'm getting my 23 gallon tank replaced end of this week for the same issue. Tried all the angles, etc, just wouldn't take fuel for more than 10-15 seconds at a time. Makes for a very long fillup.
