Not getting a closing date for so long and so late in the process made it difficult for us to lock a mortgage rate and resulted in us getting a higher rate than we should have. We know Meritage can easily sell the house for at least $10,000 more than our contract price. I closed on my home 7/20/2021. I have several unresolved warranty issues that have been ignored or completely rejected for over a year. The biggest are my patio door that opens on the wrong side, the $20k in plumbing work needed to correct a bad pitch problem identified by 7 plumbers including Meritage contractor Dupree Plumbing, venting issues with the HVAC & fireplace, & now a broken A/C. 2 reviews of MERITAGE HOMES - TRINITY FALLS "Proceed with caution - please! This was our first home ever to build and we were so excited. Meritage Homes has wonderful energy-saving construction, beautiful designs and affordable offerings. Best of all, we were building in Trinity Falls in McKinney - an adorable planned community. Then, my husband was let go and we no longer financially qualified.The most difficult part of the job is finding good work/life balance. We work 24-7 and are asked to attend company events on our days off. The best part of the job are the people, the financial rewards and the company benefits which is worth the trade-off.
