You can put it in drive, the bus would go sometimes! I pulled out the 40 amp fuse in the battery compartment and put it back in then it worked. Thats how we got it back to the garage. First try removing the ABS fuse for 10 minutes-- might reset it. I went through the same thing with my truck. I'd get range shift inhibited and stuck in 3rd. Changed nsbu and ignition switch and no change. I have a code reader so I just cleared codes and it would work for a little while. Took to transmission shop and they wanted to tear apart and rebuild. Luckily I waited.
