He added a Versa button and amsteel rope which has a crazy strength to weight ratio. He added a single step using 1" tubular webbing and thin wall plastic tubing as well.

Wrap the strap around the tree and then slide the closest adapting loop over the Versa button. At this point it should be attached to the tree and will be a bit loose. Pull out the top two steps and pull them down with some pretty good force to seat the legs into the tree and put tension on the strap. Its a cool system, glad they did it.
