2014 honda pilot vtm-4 light on and check engine light.
A day later, the VTM-4 light came on. Then, the next day, both the check engine light and VTM-4 light went off and I thought the issue with the gas cap was over. But, I drove the car around to go to the supermarket the next day, the lights came back on. Went home, was going back out again about 15 minutes later and the car would not start.
Hi all, I thought I post this thread to add my personal experience diagnosing the check engine (CEL) and VTM-4 light issues. Hopefully this information can help somebody. Feb 22, 2009 · Once you have it loosened, follow the normal VTM-4 fluid replacement procedure. Uncrew the fill plug (top one), then bottom drain plug, then the sensor itself. Use the backwards procedure to assemble everything in. Use fluid pump to put new fluid in, it takes almost a gallon. How to disengage the VTM lock. Press the VTM-4 Lock button. Shift the gear selector lever to Drive (D) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). Oil is clean & full. The CEL & VTM-4 light randomly came on with code P3400. The car feels low on power and shudders above 55 mph. The ECO light also doesn't turn on anymore. I did a quick search and this seems to be a code for an oil pressure switch on the firewall-side of the engine that deals with VCM.
