May 3, 2022 · The Jeep Compass is a decent SUV, but it doesn’t fare well in our ranking of compact SUVs. Its mediocre acceleration, uninspiring handling, subpar gas mileage and small cargo area hold it back. With that said, the Compass features excellent off-road prowess and comes equipped with a first-rate infotainment system.
